After receiving hundreds of phone calls from Faithful America members each week for the past month, the Bishop of La Crosse, Wisconsin, has finally and thankfully directed the partisan bully and anti-vaccine priest Fr. James Altman to resign.
Predictably, the hard-right is outraged. They're defending Altman's lies, accusing Faithful America of doing Satan's work, and complaining of what they call "cancel culture" -- even though Altman repeatedly tried to "cancel" Catholic Democrats, LGBTQ advocates, Black Lives Matter, and public-health doctors.
We need to counter the hatred and anti-vaccine misinformation, and show Pope Francis that the far-right is not the dominant voice in U.S. Christianity. This is also our chance to ensure that Altman's appeal is rejected, keeping his hatred and dangerous misinformation out of the pulpit.
Can you politely tell the pope's ambassador, or Apostolic Nuncio, that you support Bishop Callahan's pastoral decision and that any appeal from Fr. Altman to the Vatican be rejected? Let us know using the form below, so that we can track this campaign.
Here are three ways to contact the Apostolic Nuncio:
