THE CANDIDATES
TONY PERKINS - President of the Family Research Council
Perkins is already in our False Prophets Hall of Fame -- but he's also the reason we launched the Trumpy Golden Calf in D.C. Perkins is the president of the Family Research Council, which hosted the Pray Vote Stand Summit where we protested with the Golden Calf. When he saw the photos, Perkins freaked out and attacked us, calling us "faith-less" and "God haters." His reaction is proof of what we've been saying: Tony Perkins doesn't believe being a Christian is determined by following Jesus -- for him, it's only about who you vote for (and this year, that means Trump).
MARK ROBINSON - Candidate for North Carolina Governor
Robinson clearly prioritizes bigotry and violence over anything Jesus taught. Even before CNN published their bombshell report about his alleged posts on a porn website -- which included, among many things, claiming to be a Black nazi -- North Carolina's current Lieutenant Governor had a history of deeply disturbing proclamations, including announcing from a church pulpit that "some folks need killin'." Most recently, he skipped TWO votes that would have ensured that the North Carolinians he is supposed to serve got relief for Hurricane Helene.
MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE - Representative for GA-14
MTG has brazenly sought the spotlight -- worshipping fame and attention above all else. Most recently, she has taken to social media to spread lies about the causes of deadly hurricanes Helene and Milton. Greene is a prominent climate denier, but NOW she's claiming that humans control the weather -- but rather than acknowledging it's from burning fossil fuels she's blaming a mysterious "they." It's a dangerous revival of an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Something Greene has a nasty habit of doing.
FRANKLIN GRAHAM - False Prophet for Trump
Like Perkins, Graham has rightly earned a place in our False Prophets Hall of Fame for how he's twisted his father's legacy to attack LGBTQ people and promote Trump's Big Lie. But we're specifically nominating Graham for trying to silence Evangelicals for Harris simply because they cut together a video that shows the stark contrast between his father Billy Graham's words and those of Trump. It's disappointing to see Graham worship a man who embodies the very thing his father warned about: "The times will be full of danger… Men will become utterly self-centered and greedy for money."
