Tell Fox NewsRemove anti-LGBTQ news editor Tyler O'Neil

Posted: April 8, 2022

Fox News editor Tyler O'Neil has a long track record of anti-LGBTQ bigotry, often done in Jesus's name.

He's tweeted that "transgender identity is dangerous" and promoted the widely discredited practice of gay conversion therapy -- hateful discrimination that he erroneously claims "uphold[s] the Bible's morality."

Yet Fox News still assigns O'Neil to report on LGBTQ issues, including Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill. He's been churning out articles attacking Disney for defending the dignity of LGBTQ people -- and getting top placement on the Fox website.

Giving an openly bigoted editor free rein to report on LGBTQ stories takes bias to the next level, even for Fox News. While Fox's primetime opinion commentators are known for far-right activism, Fox claims that the "news" side of its operation has journalistic standards -- but that's clearly not true, if O'Neil's reporting is any indication.

No so-called news organization should allow openly homophobic editors to cover LGBTQ issues. Fox needs to hear from a nationwide movement of pro-LGBTQ Christians who are tired of seeing our faith misrepresented this way.
