The greatest threat to Trump and his false prophets' attempt to stoke political violence in Jesus's hijacked name is us -- Christians who call out the hypocrisy and lies of their movement.
This election is incredibly close, and it will likely take days for votes to be counted before we know the outcome. But here are two things we are sure of now: (1) We know if Trump loses, he will still attempt to seize power, and (2) We know that we can get prepared now.
Right now, both presidential candidates are making their closing arguments. And Trump has been building on the foundation that false prophets like Mike Flynn and Lance Wallnau have laid. By mixing election denial, disinformation, and claims that Trump is "anointed" -- they've created a moral permission structure for political violence against election officials.
But we know the truth: Their claims are white Christian nationalist blasphemy. Because Jesus preached peace, not violence.
We need to raise our voices now as Christians and declare: We are committed to a peaceful transition of power no matter the outcome of the election. And we denounce any calls for political violence, especially those made in Jesus's name.
