Faithful America celebrated a huge victory when Verizon joined DirecTV in dropping One America News – the far-right, Christian-nationalist "news" channel that made a name for itself glorifying Trump, undermining COVID prevention, and spreading lies about the 2020 election.
Now OAN is desperate for money and viewers, so its leadership is trying to pressure two giant cable companies -- Comcast and Charter -- into helping keep the network alive.
According to technology journal Ars Technica, OAN is running a digital ad begging its supporters to call Comcast's Xfinity and Charter's Spectrum and demand they start carrying OAN.
OAN may be on the ropes, but we know that the religious right can be ruthless about ramping up pressure to get what they want -- especially when they feel threatened. We can't let these right-wing calls to increase access to misinformation go uncontested.
Let's make sure Comcast and Charter hear from social-justice Christians who want them to stand strong and say no to spreading OAN's Christian nationalism and lies about our democracy!
