The U.S. Senate will soon be considering a deeply harmful budget reconciliation mega-bill promoted by Donald Trump -- and people of faith across the country must make their voices heard now.

This bill includes massive tax giveaways for the wealthiest Americans and large corporations and massive funding increases for the military and mass deportations while slashing health care and food assistance.

Repairers of the Breach and Faithful America are working together to encourage key senators to meet with faith leaders and those who this legislation impacts before they cast their votes.

Dear Senator,

I am writing to you today in solidarity with Moral Mondays in DC, an effort that began earlier this spring to focus on the moral issues at stake in the federal budget. I understand that you will soon vote on cuts to Medicaid, nutrition assistance, and tax changes that would adversely impact low-income Americans. As a person of faith and as your constituent, I am asking you to oppose these immoral cuts.

On May 1 of this year, our coalition published an open letter to the leadership of the House and Senate requesting that members of both bodies meet with us and those who would be impacted by this legislation before casting their vote. I am writing today to renew that request. Please reach out to our convening partner, Repairers of the Breach, to plan a meeting as soon as possible.
