Tell Indianapolis archbishopStop attacking LGBT Catholic teachers!

Posted: June 24, 2019

The Archbishop of Indianapolis is pressuring Catholic schools to fire gay teachers across the archdiocese. Leaders at a local Jesuit high school refused -- so he's issued a decree cutting ties with the school.

Jesuit officials aren't backing down. They're refusing to fire the teacher and have pledged to take their case all the way to the Vatican if necessary. But other Catholic schools have closer official ties to the archdiocese, and have been bullied into firing LGBT staff members as recently as this week.

Archbishop Thompson's actions are extortion, not ministry, but he's making national headlines and could set a dangerous precedent for Catholic schools across the country. Let's show him that Catholics and other Christians across the country stand with Jesuit leaders and LGBT Catholics in opposing this cruel discrimination.
