Add your nameBishops must not endorse Donald Trump

On Saturday, the Catholic Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Dolan, cemented his "unholy alliance with Trump" by "cozy[ing] up so cravenly" to the president that he "inextricably linked the Catholic Church in the United States to the Republican Party."

So writes the editorial staff of the National Catholic Reporter in a scathing op-ed called "Dolan delivers the church to Trump and the GOP."

On an April 25 call between Trump and top Catholic leaders, Cardinal Dolan praised the president, hailed Cabinet members Betsy DeVos and Ben Carson as "cherished allies," and joked that he talks to Trump more than his own mother. The archbishop continued his lavish praise of Trump on Sunday, first in his cathedral homily and then on Fox News.

In 2012, Cardinal Dolan was so critical of Barack Obama that one Manhattan parish felt comfortable printing an endorsement of Mitt Romney in the church bulletin. Grassroots Catholics and other Christians across the country must speak out now to prevent another dangerous show of church support for Trump's hateful agenda.
