Tell WalMart, McDonald's, Kroger, and othersGive your employees paid sick leave for coronavirus

The first round of major coronavirus relief has been signed into law, guaranteeing paid sick leave for many workers -- but millions of the most vulnerable were left out, and need our immediate action.

The new law is a welcome start, but more is desperately needed: Companies over 500 employees aren't covered by the legislation, stranding millions of Americans without paid sick leave right when they need it most.

Food companies, in particular, have left their employees vulnerable to economic ruin. Between the three of them, McDonald's, Walmart, and Kroger have more than one-million employees without paid sick leave.

This is a public-health issue as well as a social-justice issue. Low-income workers can't afford to pay their bills if they miss work -- but if food workers come in sick, all of us are put at risk. As Christians and as consumers, it's up to us to demand that major employers live up to their moral obligations.
