Tell Hobby Lobby's Christian CEOProtect your employees from coronavirus

Posted: March 24, 2020

Claiming that God spoke to his wife, CEO David Green has announced that Hobby Lobby stores will stay open in spite of the threat from COVID-19. Apparently God didn't say anything about offering paid sick leave.

Thanks to grassroots pressure, leaders at companies like Kroger, Safeway, and Target have begun to change their policies and offer employees enough paid sick leave for coronavirus treatment. Unfortunately, Hobby Lobby's billionaire CEO is refusing to show the same decency as these other executives, despite his professed Christian values.

Green has arrogantly decreed that Hobby Lobby stores are "essential," and in a letter to employees, he wrote, "we can all rest knowing that God is in control." True -- but part of God's control is to let Green run his own chain.

As a Christian CEO, the least Green can do is close his stores where legally required to do so, and use some of his $6.4 billion to give employees paid sick leave during the pandemic.
