The Diocese of Cleveland in Ohio recently followed in the footsteps of many other conservative Catholic dioceses across the country, adopting a harmful set of policies restricting the rights of LGBTQ students under their jurisdiction.
But here's the good news: Students and alumni of the diocesan schools are pushing back, protesting the anti-LGBTQ policy and increasing the pressure on Bishop Edward Malesic to reverse it.
One student activist beautifully summed up the unholy, hypocritical impact that these sorts of policies have on their community:
"This goes against what the Congregation of Saint Joseph teaches us -- that we should serve the dear neighbor."
The momentum against this policy is growing. Now, let's show these courageous students and local organizers that a nationwide movement of Catholics and other Christians has their back in this struggle.
