Add your nameThank the bishops standing up to Donald Trump

President Trump misused a sacred Christian site for the second time last week, posing June 2 at a shrine to Pope John Paul II. At least three Catholic bishops boldly denounced the disgraceful photo-op, as well as Trump's use of horrific violence against Black Lives Matter protesters.

Washington Archbishop Wilton Gregory said, "I find it baffling and reprehensible that any Catholic facility would allow itself to be so egregiously misused and manipulated in a fashion that violates our religious principles, which call us to defend the rights of all people."

Thankfully, Archbishop Gregory is not alone: Both San Antonio, TX, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller and Lexington, KY, Bishop John Stowe compared Trump to Biblical hypocrites. (Other bishops have also condemned the murder of George Floyd without specifically mentioning Trump, including Chicago's Cardinal Blase Cupich and El Paso, TX, Bishop Mark Seitz.)

When New York's right-wing Cardinal Dolan expressed his enthusiasm for the president this spring, 24,000 Faithful America members spoke out in protest. Now let's encourage the bishops who are speaking out against Trump's hatred and blasphemy -- and ask them to demand their colleagues join them.
