Tell Twitter and YouTubeStop Trump's disinformation about Biden's religion

Posted: Aug. 19, 2020

This month, the Trump campaign released an attack ad featuring multiple dishonest, photoshopped pictures of Joe Biden. One image was even edited to look like Biden was sleeping in a chair -- when in reality, he was praying in a Delaware church.

The Washington Post's fact checker gave the ad "four Pinocchios," its worst possible rating. This is just Trump's latest attack on Joe Biden's deep Catholic faith. The president has also wrongly and shamelessly stoked fear by claiming that if Biden wins, "religion will be gone" -- because Biden would somehow "hurt God" and is "against the Bible."

It's Trump's central campaign strategy: Hijack religion and portray himself as the only Christian option, despite his opponent's faith and his own deadly policies and hateful rhetoric.

The good news is that tech giants have started deleting some of Trump's misinformation. If Twitter and YouTube can delete the president's COVID-19 lies, they can delete his lies about faith, too. Together, we can show the tech companies that their Christian customers are sick of being manipulated -- and that we demand action.
