An open letter to churchesReject Wallnau and Kirk's pro-Trump tour

Posted: Feb. 8, 2024

This is alarming: Two of the leading names from Faithful America's list of top Christian-nationalist False Prophets are teaming up to organize churches in key swing states for Donald Trump.

Last month, televangelist and self-described "prophet" Lance Wallnau -- a leader in the far-right New Apostolic Reformation -- announced a joint "Courage Tour" with Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA and its offshoot TPUSA Faith, encouraging pastors in Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin to promote the "America First agenda."

Sadly, they're seeing quick success: Wallnau claims that TPUSA has already signed up 2,500 churches.

Wallnau and Kirk are a match made in Christian-nationalist heaven. Wallnau has embraced the label, claiming on his podcast that if America doesn't receive "divine intervention, it's sunk." And Kirk -- fresh off attacking the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as "awful" and "not a good guy" -- wrongly claims that the separation of church is "unconstitutional, immoral, and a tactic of the enemy."

As Christians who want the world to see that Jesus taught love and peace -- not hatred and political violence -- we need to speak out about this manipulative pro-Trump project now. Let's ask churches to reject Kirk and Wallnau's partisan, self-serving, Christofascist political agenda immediately.
