Tell the USDARelease SNAP contingency funding now

Posted: Oct. 29, 2025

"The well has run dry."

That is the current claim on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) website regarding funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). On November 1, 42 million people -- nearly 1 in 8 U.S. residents --  will lose their access to food assistance if the USDA does nothing to stop it.

That means millions of children and families will go hungry, not because the resources don’t exist, but because of the inaction and indifference of our government leaders.

The message on the USDA website isn't just offensive (and likely a violation of federal ethics laws). It's also a blatant lie. Until its quiet removal on October 1, the website included information on nearly $6 billion in SNAP contingency funds which exist

"to ensure that the state can also continue operations during a Federal Government shutdown." But the Trump regime is hiding the truth to avoid releasing the funding.

As Christians, we hold another truth: that the well NEVER truly runs dry. Throughout Scripture, the well is a place of nourishment, community, and life. This well is no different. There is enough for all if our leaders find the moral courage and political will to ensure that all are fed.

Let's speak out as Christians who follow a God of abundance and demand that the USDA release the contingency funds to ensure hungry families are fed during this shutdown. Sign now!
