Tell DirecTV CEO Bill MorrowDrop the Christian nationalist, televangelist Victory Channel

Posted: July 3, 2024

One of the biggest challenges to building a world of love, social justice, and beloved community for all is the spread of hatred and political violence in Jesus's hijacked name. And if you're concerned about the Christian nationalism and misinformation on Fox News... DirecTV's Victory Channel is far, far worse.

Owned by wealthy, far-right televangelist Kenneth Copeland, the channel -- and in particular the show "FlashPoint" -- is a hotbed of the most extreme Christofascism and has a large, growing, and diehard viewership.

Purporting to bring "a prophetic perspective" to the news, the network blasphemously portrays the rapist and convicted ex-president Donald Trump as a singular leader anointed by God to save America.

In January, Pastor Hank Kunneman, a "FlashPoint" regular, said the Lord told him that 2024 would be a year of "divine reckoning" and "vengeance against the wicked." Now "FlashPoint" is calling on pastors to start preaching a pro-Trump message on Sunday mornings, and is mobilizing evangelical churches to get out the vote and re-elect Trump in November.

Faithful America members once convinced DirecTV channels to drop televangelist Jim Bakker for selling COVID snake oil. Now we urgently need to speak out together for truth and peace once more.
