The United Methodist Church's General Conference is happening soon -- and with equality on the line, we need to show our urgent Christian support for LGBTQ Methodists now.

For 52 years, the UMC's rulebook, the Book of Discipline, has wrongly and cruelly called homosexuality "incompatible with Christian teaching."

For decades, LGBTQ Methodists and allies have been organizing to remove that harmful passage -- along with other passages that ban the ordination of LGBTQ clergy and prohibit clergy from conducting ceremonies that celebrate same-sex weddings or unions on church property.

Now, LGBTQ delegates to the General Conference have formed an exciting new United Methodist Queer Delegate Caucus, and they're planning a big push for LGBTQ equality at this General Conference.

It's a pivotal moment not just for the future of the UMC, but for all LGBTQ Christians and their allies. Let's show these courageous LGBTQ delegates and LGBTQ Methodists everywhere that a nationwide movement of Christians has their backs in this struggle.
