This is what passes for Christianity in Washington, DC: At next month's annual "Values Voter Summit," media outlets from all over the world will gather to cover an event organized and sponsored by hate groups.
The Family Research Council and American Family Association purport to speak for Christians, but their spokespeople blame gays for the holocaust, accuse gay men of molesting children, and say that black people "rut like rabbits."
One reason their extremist hatefest attracts so much media attention is that so many leading conservative politicians -- all of them eager to demonstrate their Christian faith -- appear on stage. This year more than a dozen members of Congress, including Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, and Rep. Paul Ryan, are scheduled to speak.
But these politicians might reconsider their appearances if they're forced to answer for the hateful and unchristian rhetoric of the Values Voter Summit's sponsors.
