Tell Bishop CurryStop Albany bishop from prohibiting gay weddings

Posted: Nov. 15, 2018

The Episcopal bishop of Albany is refusing to allow same-sex weddings in the diocese, defying a new church-wide policy that allows, but does not obligate, any priest to officiate at them.

The Episcopal Church’s new policy is a decisive move towards the full inclusion of LGBTQ people. But Albany Bishop Bill Love sent an angry letter, refusing to abide by the policy and alleging that the church is being deceived by Satan and hijacked by the “Gay Rights Agenda.”

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, as the leader of the denomination, is responsible for enforcing church policy. He must defend the church’s LGBTQ members and make it clear that this sort of injustice will not be tolerated.
