The first Muslim congresswomen in U.S. history haven't even been sworn in yet—and the religious right is already attacking them.
In a remark that’s made national headlines, conservative pastor E.W. Jackson said about Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, “The floor of Congress is now going to look like an Islamic republic.”
With the FBI reporting that Muslim Americans are facing a spike in bias-motivated attacks, Christians can’t let the religious right’s attacks on these Muslim congresswomen go unanswered.
Christians reject Islamophobia because Jesus calls us to love our neighbors—and we have a special obligation to make sure Muslim Americans know that the religious right doesn’t speak for Christianity.
