Pope Francis is issuing a historic challenge to the church and the world to tackle the climate crisis. But here in the United States, most Catholic bishops are still fixated on right-wing political crusades.
The bishops' conference just adopted a set of priorities for the next several years that make no mention of advocating for the planet or the poor. And next week they're holding the fourth annual "Fortnight for Freedom," an event designed to attack the Obama administration and push for new "religious freedom" laws.
Let's show the U.S. bishops that it's time for a radical change in their priorities -- and that Christians across America are ready to get serious about saving God's creation.
