U.S. Bishops need a leader like Pope Francis

Posted: Sept. 20, 2013

For the first time since Francis became pope, next week the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops are gathering to elect a new president.

Under Pope Francis's leadership, the American bishops have a chance to make a new start, centering their ministry on the good news of Jesus Christ and God's love for the poor.

But amazingly, the leading contender for the presidency of the bishops' conference is the current vice president, who helped lead the bishops' efforts to block marriage equality and undermine Obamacare.

Will you join in calling on the bishops to pick a president more like Pope Francis?
