Tell Mitch McConnellWe'll take care of the prayers. You take care of the laws.

Mass shootings have become heartbreakingly common in the United States. Yet it seems that the only response we ever get from lawmakers on the right is just more "thoughts and prayers."

It happened again on Saturday: Prayer was all Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had to offer on Twitter after the domestic terror attacks in El Paso and Dayton.

As Christians, our prayers should certainly be with the victims of the latest mass shootings -- but so should our actions.

Prayer is meant to bring us closer to God, but by refusing to save God's children from unnecessary carnage, Mitch McConnell is doing the exact opposite. And as Christians sick of the violence and sick of prayer being abused this way, we need to call him out on it.

Tell Mitch McConnell: Prayer must lead to action. Cancel the Senate's recess and return for votes on gun violence now!
