Tell Archbishop Paul Etienne and Principal Nancy BradishWe stand with Catholic student protesters to defend fired LGBTQ teachers

Posted: Feb. 19, 2020

Last Thursday, Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA, forced two teachers to "voluntarily resign" for getting engaged to their same-sex partners.

By Tuesday, hundreds of parents and alumni were protesting the Seattle-area school in defense of teachers Paul Danforth and Michelle Beattie -- and students walked out of class to fill the halls with a powerful sit-in.

School administrators have a long way to go, but it's clear that Catholic students recognize LGBTQ people were created in the image of God and are entitled to the same love, dignity, and equal employment rights as anyone else.

The new Archbishop of Seattle has been on the job for less than six months. Let's welcome him to his new role by showing him that Catholics and other Christians across the country stand with Catholic student protesters in opposing this cruel LGBTQ discrimination done in Jesus' name.
