On April 29, an evangelical Army chaplain distributed a book which hatefully claims "some people will be infected with the coronavirus as a specific judgment from God" against same-sex relationships.

Chaplain (Colonel) Moon H. Kim, senior chaplain at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, used his official email account to send a digital copy of the book, Coronavirus and Christ by John Piper, to his subordinate chaplains.

Military chaplains have important jobs: Ensure that service members are able to freely practice their religion, whatever it may be, while also providing them and their families with pastoral care. Chaplain Kim's unsolicited distribution of hateful anti-LGBTQ materials is a failure on both counts -- and many of his fellow chaplains are outraged.

Twenty-two chaplains, concerned for the religious liberty and pastoral care of their troops, reached out to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation for help asking the Pentagon to investigate and discipline Chaplain Kim. Let's show the Army that grassroots Christians across the country support these chaplains and their request to reprimand the colonel!
