Add your nameTrump's Bible photo-op was blasphemy

Monday night, the president teargassed peaceful protesters -- all for the sake of a photo op with a Bible outside an unwilling Episcopal church, blasphemously using the Prince of Peace to prop up state violence and white supremacy.

Federal authorities used rubber bullets so Donald Trump could walk from the White House to St. John's. Without the priest's permission, Trump held up a Bible outside the church to threaten military action -- never bothering to actually open the Scriptures or pray.

Rarely have we seen a more blatant example of toxic Christian nationalism. Religious-right pastors are already using this photo to pretend Trump supports faith and win him votes -- but Faithful America members aren't fooled by the racist, selfish charlatan. We need to make sure our neighbors and the press aren't fooled, either.

The Episcopal Bishop of Washington has strongly condemned Trump's stunt and aligned herself with people of color seeking justice for George Floyd. Sign our statement now to show that she, not Donald Trump, is speaking for Christians across the country!
