Tell President ObamaDon't deport Pastor Max Villatoro

Posted: March 14, 2015

Max Villatoro is the pastor of First Mennonite Church in Iowa City. Born in Honduras, he has lived in the United States for more than 20 years, and has four children who are U.S. citizens. But now Pastor Max has been locked up by immigration authorities, and he could be deported as soon as tonight.

Almost two decades ago, Pastor Max was convicted of driving while intoxicated. But everyone who knows him says that he's turned his life around and become a devoted husband, father, and pastor.

The Obama administration has promised not to pursue deportations of people who have strong family and community ties in the United States, and who are not a threat to public safety.

But as the Iowa City community has rallied around Pastor Max, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reacted by expediting deportation proceedings.

So we're launching an emergency petition asking President Obama to intervene and stop this deportation. Will you add your name?
