Tell Catholic bishopsSpeak out against Steve Bannon

Posted: Nov. 15, 2016

Donald Trump has announced that he intends to appoint extremist Steve Bannon as his chief White House strategist. Bannon is the former head of Breitbart News, which the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a "white ethno-nationalist propaganda mill."

Among the conspiracy theories Bannon has peddled are attacks on the Catholic Church's work with refugees and migrants. "Catholics want as many Hispanics in this country as possible, because the church is dying in this country," he said this spring.

Under his leadership, Breitbart published articles attacking Catholic refugee agencies, claiming that their "new mission is to import terrorism to the United States under the false flag of Christian compassion."

Right now the Catholic bishops are holding their annual fall meeting in Baltimore - the perfect opportunity for them to condemn the Bannon pick and demand that Trump keep hate leaders out of the White House.
