Tell Philadelphia archbishopDisinvite ex-gay therapy advocates from Pope Francis conference

Posted: Aug. 25, 2015

Pope Francis is visiting Philadelphia next month for the World Meeting of Families, and the local conservative archbishop is hijacking the event to promote his own right-wing agenda.

Archbishop Chaput has banned Catholic groups that support LGBT families from the exhibit hall, and invited advocates for anti-gay conversion therapy to give speeches, lead workshops, and sell their books and other materials.

"Conversion therapy" tries to change someone from gay to straight, and has been legally banned in four states and officially rejected by the American Psychological Association as leading to depression, anxiety, self-hatred, and even suicide.

We need to show Archbishop Chaput that countless Christians won't stand by while he hijacks Pope Francis's visit to America to push his own anti-gay agenda.
